rather than : 比起什么更什么，一般都是更喜欢什么.
other than : 除了这个之外
instead of : 以什么什么代替什么什么

Examples :
1 I prefer milk rather than soymilk.
2 As for lunch, other than Tuesday, anyday works for me.
